Help Japan Challenge

This weeks Daily Paintworks Challenge is the Help Japan Challenge. The theme of this challenge is "Home" - an image that says home to you. This painting is a Sunday morning on Commercial Drive in Vancouver, where I grew up. The west coast of Canada is on a major earthquake fault line. All of us have some sort of thrown together emergency preparedness kit for such an eventuality, but after seeing the crisis in Japan, we are soberly and seriously preparing our earthquake kits. This is an opportunity for you to donate to Japan Relief and have 100% of your donation go to the cause and at the same time receive a great original piece of art. Click here to go to DPW Challenge and view all of the wonderful paintings donated by artists all over the world. I'm sure you'll find something you will love to own with the added value of helping those in need.

  3. Kristin's comment was my first response, too! The dappled light really lends a solid feeling about place and time and adds dynamism. The DPW challenge is doing such a great thing!

  5. Thank you Kathrine, Kristin, Lorraine, and Hilda for you kind comments. I'm more than happy to donate a painting to the cause, and I'm glad you all like this one. Perhaps that means it will sell and help raise money for Japan aid!
